This is a good recipe if you want a chili with a little spice to it and no beans. Thank you, Ellen, for sharing it with me. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of it and now it is all gone.
- 1 ½ lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves crushed garlic (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds (not powder)
- ½ cup chili powder
- 1 – 4 ounce can chopped green chiles
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 – 8 ounce cans tomato sauce
- 16 ounces of water
- Brown ground beef, while stirring.
- Add onion and cook until clear.
- Add garlic, cumin, chili powder, chiles, salt, pepper, tomato sauce , and water.
- Simmer on low heat for one hour, stirring frequently.
